March 2021 - Former Independent Living Fund recipient grant to be paid

03/03/2021

The government has confirmed that it will continue to pay the former Independent Living Fund (ILF) recipient grant to local authorities in England in 2021/2022.

But the total value of the grant remains frozen at 2019/2020 level of £160.6 million.

Following the closure of the ILF in June 2015, the government originally agreed to continue funding pre-existing ILF arrangements until the end of 2019/2020 but this has now been extended to cover 2020/2021.

The government has also set out allocation rates for individual local authorities in England, ranging from less than £8,000 (City of London) to more than £5 million (Lancashire and Essex).
