December 2022 – Flexible Working05/12/2022
The government has announced that it is to introduce legislation making the right to request flexible working a day one entitlement, removing the current 26-week qualifying period before employees can request flexible working.
It is also proposed to require employers to consult with their employees, as a means of exploring the available options, before rejecting a flexible working request, allow employees to make two flexible working requests in any 12-month period and require employers to respond to requests within two months (instead of the current three). In addition, employees will no longer have to set out how the effects of their flexible working request might be dealt with by their employer. Contrast Font size
